We are delighted to announce that our Breaks from Caring grants scheme for 2021-22 is now open for applications from unpaid carers living in East Lothian. The scheme supports carers, including parent carers and young carers, who need financial help to take a break from their caring situation.
Carers can apply for grants of up to £300 for an individual or £500 for a household (where there is more than one carer in a household). In exceptional, circumstances we may be able to consider requests of up to £400 per individual.
The scheme is funded by the Scottish Government, via Shared Care Scotland and the Time to live Fund, with additional funding from East Lothian Health & Social Care Partnership.
